And welcome back to the land of Tessa,
What's new with me you might ask, well some very exciting stuff is new actually, so thanks for asking. Firstly, I can finally announce that I will be spending my next semester of uni on exchange at the University of South Carolina. I got my offical acceptance letter in the mail, and I tell you what, that was pretty cool. Along with this came another very exciting email, telling me I had also gotten a scholarship/travel grant from UQ to contribute to my experience. We were pretty much told not to rely on these scholarships/grants because they are very competitive and there were some very high GPA's this year. So I am not only super happy to have received one, but pretty proud of myself too. My travel plans are all falling into place, and I cannot wait! I've never been to America before, but it has always been a huge dream of mine. If anyone has some America related travel tips, hit me up.
Last weekend I did a very exciting shoot for the blog, something a little different to my usual look, I think I'd call this one a bit more moody and edgy, but kinda cool at the same time. I collaborated with my very talented hairdresser Krystle from Reminiscence Hair Studio to change things up and create an epic hair style. All my Brisbane boys and gals I would recommend her/10, she has been working with my hair since I was a lil one and I would not trust anyone else with my hair. Like legit, I am never allowing her to retire because there is no one else who could do it better.
Here is her links if you'd like to check her out:
I'll be releasing all the images shot by www.instagram.com/samanthaspannraar/?hl=en over the next couple of weeks, but if you would like to see a little sneak peek we did do a behind the scenes video which is now up on my Youtube channel www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMSs8bMM6Is.
Well I can tell this is already going to be an essay so I will suggest that you now grab the popcorn so we can dive into this look. So yep, head to toe dressed in Princess Polly, are we surprised? No.
My friends and I were discussing the other day what everyone's style could be described as and straight up my friends said when they saw vintage/band tees they always thought of me. So I guess the fact that I loved this singlet and had to buy it is no surprise. It is probably one of my more wearable Fields of Harper outfits and it makes regular appearances in my day to day life. It's just super cool and comfy at the same time, so really it is a winner all round.
These shorts are a catfish kinda situation, they looked amazing online, and they had completely sold out except for one, so this obviously made me think, okay they must be a good pair of shorts and of course I had to have them. But I have to say I am slightly disappointed. They are nice and long at the back which I love, but they also have rips in the back, which due to my rather large ghetto end up sitting like on my bum cheeks, which kind of defeats the purpose of the extra length and it ain't pretty. In hindsight I probably could have guessed this from the photos online, so it may be partially my fault. However, that isn't my main problem with them, what I really don't like is that they are like undie short at the front, so I personally feel really uncomfortable in them, and I spend my life constantly pulling them down, and undoing the fold which is supposed to be there, just to give me some extra length. If you are super tiny and have rocking legs then these would be perfect for you, they just don't really suit my body type. In saying that I do love the colour though so I decided to shoot them anyway, because I don't own anything like them and they worked so well with the top.
This bandana trend has been around for a little while now, and it looks like it is here to stay. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to pull it off, but I kind of dig how it looks with this outfit, I'm not sure if I would be game to wear it in an every day context, but it certainly gives this outfit an added boost and a great pop of colour.
I feel like I could honestly sit down and talk to you guys forever, but this is lengthy enough as is, so I will save everything else for next time.
Thank you for getting all the way through, you guys are the best and if you've read this whole thing, feel free to go comment a star or something on my latest Instagram post so I can see you :) In saying that Instagram has been really weird for me at the moment and I am seeing a huge drop in engagement, so I'll be thinking on that and what I can do about it.
Lots of Love,
Follow me on my socials and I'll love you forever :)
